About EM³I 2027
International Conference on Emerging Materials, Measurement Technologies and Machine Intelligence — 29–30 January 2027, Gauhati University, India
About the Conference
EM³I 2027 is an international forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners working at the intersection of advanced materials, precision measurement, and intelligent systems. The conference brings together leading voices from academia and industry to share breakthrough research, forge collaborations, and chart the future of instrumentation science.
The title EM³I captures the three pillars of the conference: Emerging Materials (smart materials, nanomaterials, metamaterials and their sensing applications), Measurement Technologies (novel sensors, IoT instrumentation, signal processing and calibration techniques), and Machine Intelligence (AI/ML-driven diagnostics, predictive modelling, autonomous measurement systems and Industry 4.0 integration).
Accepted and presented papers will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore Digital Library, subject to meeting IEEE quality standards. The conference is technically co-sponsored by IEEE.

IEEE Co-Sponsorship
EM³I 2027 is technically co-sponsored by IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE co-sponsorship ensures that accepted and presented papers meet rigorous quality standards and are eligible for indexing in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library — one of the most widely accessed repositories of scientific and engineering literature.
Authors whose papers appear in IEEE Xplore gain global visibility through its 5.8 million documents accessed by over 2 million users worldwide each month. IEEE membership offers additional benefits including access to journals, standards, and a professional network spanning 160 countries.
The Host Institution
Gauhati University
Founded in 1948, Gauhati University is the largest and oldest university in North East India, located at Jalukbari, Guwahati, Assam. The university has over 30 teaching departments and offers programmes from undergraduate to doctoral level across science, humanities, social science, law, commerce and management.
The university has been a centre of academic excellence in the region for more than seven decades, maintaining strong ties with national research institutions and universities worldwide. Its sprawling campus on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra provides a serene and inspiring setting for academic pursuits.
Department of Instrumentation & USIC
The Department of Instrumentation and the University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) together form the organising body of EM³I 2027. The department offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Instrumentation, with a strong emphasis on sensor technology, signal processing, embedded systems, and biomedical instrumentation.
Faculty and research scholars are actively engaged in collaborative projects with national agencies including the Department of Science and Technology (DST), DRDO, and industry partners. The department has a well-equipped research laboratory infrastructure supporting work in materials characterisation, sensor fabrication, and intelligent measurement systems.
